Live now commissions

LIVE NOW is a new commissioning programme from The Lowry, supporting artists to make work for digital platforms and online audiences, and paving the way for a new type of performance to sit within our programming.

CTRL 2023

In partnership with Submerge Festival, CTRL (Creative Technology Research Labs) is a new development programme for artists based in Greater Manchester looking to learn and develop skills in creative technology performance, immersive experience making, and digital creation tools.  

Class of

In 2019 and 2020 (extended to 2021 due to the pandemic), Class Of was an annual programme that supported a cohort of Greater Manchester-based artists and  producers to build their understanding of the business of the performing arts sector.

Far from the norm artist development labs

In 2022, Lowry in partnership with Far From The Norm developed a series of pilot artist development labs to support 8 Hip Hop creatives with practical skills, insight, and resources to enrich their practice.

Cultural Comedy Tours & the L.S Lowry collection

Lowry, Salford and BBC Comedy Grants supported Cultural Comedy Tours to work with disabled or/and neurodivergent participants from Greater Manchester
