Careers & Volunteering
Be part of our story
The team at Lowry, from volunteers to senior staff, make everything that we achieve possible. Together we want to “make it count” and unlock the benefits of creativity for everyone.
Lowry is committed to creating an inclusive workforce by reflecting and representing the diversity of Salford and the UK. We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of The Lowry – whether that is to work in our creative or support roles.
We particularly encourage applications from the following two people groups who are currently under-represented in our work force and in the wider performing and visual arts sector; those people who experience racism and marginalisation, including those from African, Caribbean, North African, LatinX, South Asian, East Asian and South East Asian heritage and their diasporas, those who are disabled, Deaf and neurodivergent or have long-term health conditions. For more information, read our EDI policy.

Volunteer for us
Our volunteers have been at the heart of the Lowry since we opened in 2000. As one of the largest volunteer programmes of any cultural venue in the country, we are incredibly proud of our Volunteer Involvement Programme (VIP) and the dedication and commitment that our volunteers (VIPs) bring to our team.
Our VIPS are often the first people that our audiences and visitors meet. They help us to provide the best possible experience for everyone that comes to Lowry, helping us make everyone feel welcome and safe. They act as ushers and fire marshals for the venue’s three theatre spaces, selling programmes and merchandise, running the cloakroom and assisting our Front of House Management Team.
