Our mission

Our vision is this: make Salford a city where the joy and benefits of the arts are felt by everyone. Our mission is to empower people and families in our community to experience culture their own way. No barriers. No judgement.

We believe creativity and the arts have the power to change lives and change the future - but we need your support to make it happen. We want you to be a part of our story.

Making Culture Count

Lowry is proud to share 'Making Culture Count' - a social and economic impact report highlighting the power of cultural institutions (just like ours) in transforming lives and communities. This report captures what matters to us most; the positive impact that we have on our local area and communities, and how we have played a foundational role in the wider regeneration of Salford Quays.

Your support

We’re a registered charity and a non-profit organisation. We only get 6% of our income from public funding. This means the support of individuals, companies and grant-making trusts and foundations is vital for us.

With this support we’re able to:

Maintain our world-class artistic theatres and Galleries programme.
Break down barriers to culture for audiences, participants and creators through community outreach and engagement.
Harness the power of the arts to build skills, develop confidence and brighten the futures of children and young people across our city.
Nurture the next generation of artists, creatives, and practitioners - opening eyes and clearing pathways to careers in the Creative Industries.
Build more diverse audiences of the future through making the arts more accessible.

Socially Engaged Art

We use the arts for good, including raising money to fund a year-long creative programme supporting local partners in tackling homelessness in Salford.

Families

We work with Salford City Council to teach young parents and families in our local community about creative learning - and so much more.

Schools

Our teams go above and beyond to provide workshops, projects, programmes and tools to support teachers and students (of all ages) in Salford and Greater Manchester.

Young people

Our YES programme, Lowry CATS scheme and the Lowry Young Company are just some of the ways we open doors for the next generation of creative talent.

Our fundraising and development team

Our Fundraising and Development team offers opportunities to support our work at all levels. From our long-standing supporters scheme to one-off special events to major partnerships and sponsorships. Support us however it suits you.
