Creating new opportunities for artists in Salford
Better Connected is a new initiative from Greater Manchester Arts (GM Arts) developed in partnership with artists and arts organisations based in Salford. Taking place throughout 2025 - 2026, the programme offers a range of free professional development opportunities designed to support artists at all stages of their careers.
There is also an Access Bursary available to support artists to address barriers to participation.

Better Connected: First Wave of Opportunities
Deadline to apply for opportunities and bursary: Thursday 24 April, 5pm
Artist Peer Mentoring Training Programme - Designed to equip artists with the skills and confidence to facilitate peer mentoring. Through a series of Saturday sessions, you will learn effective mentoring techniques, develop leadership abilities, and gain practical tools to support and guide fellow artists in their creative growth. Saturdays: 31 May, 07, 14, 21, 28 June
AI for Artists Workshop – An accessible introduction to AI tools, exploring how they can inspire, support, and enhance your creative practice. Perfect for beginners looking to experiment with new digital possibilities. Fri 6 June, 2-4pm
Artist Branding Workshop – Learn how to refine and present your artistic identity with confidence. Thu 5 June, 2-4pm
