About Lewys’ work

Lewys will collaborate with dancer and artist Eleanor Sikorski to create a performance which uses instant composition to explore ideas of translation, comedy and musicality.

The two dancers will speak, dance and take on a variety of disparate identities, negotiating the fall out of their spontaneous decisions with a BSL interpreter and a captioning technician.

“My parents used to drive us over to Lowry from Scarborough when I was growing up. I was quite heavily into Batman at the time but those trips opened my eyes to the possibilities of spending my time sharing my weird dreams with other people through art-making. I’m delighted that Lowry have invited me to share some of these dreams over the next 18 months.” – Lewys Holt
