Lowry Privacy Policy - Fundraising & Development

who we are

The aims of the Fundraising & Development function are to deliver a programme of initiatives to raise funds from a range of sources including individuals, corporate and trusts and foundations to support: the core running of The Lowry and its activities (revenue); the development and delivery of major projects (project funding); the ongoing capital development of The Lowry building (capital). The Fundraising & Development function also leads on a year-round advocacy programme of activity to promote The Lowry’s strategic core purposes, through key aspects of the annual programmes of work across the Performing, Visual and Cross Art forms as well as Learning & Engagement, to key stakeholders.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will use the information that we collect about you in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018, the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003.

lawful basis & data usage

Contract

‘Adopt A Lowry’ Sign Up

We will process personal data through The Lowry Shopify site which features a page where individuals can purchase an ‘Adopt A Lowry’ gift. This data will be used by the Fundraising & Development team to activate the individual’s ‘gift’ in order to begin delivering benefits and stewardship.

Fundraising Event Guests

Personal data will be processed so that The Lowry can compile guest lists and seating plans for those requesting to attend our fundraising events. This may include processing dietary and/or access data so that we can provide a safe environment for our guests.

Raffle Ticket Sales

When we conduct raffles at our events, we will collect personal data in the event there are issues with payments or if we need to follow up with the ticket buyer for any other reason – such as to contact them in relation to a winning ticket.

New Supporter Sign Up

We will process personal data for new supporters of The Lowry after they sign up to our supporter membership scheme.

Auction (Fundraising event)

We will host auction and other fundraising events which will lead to The Lowry processing personal data for payments and prize delivery.

Legitimate Interests

Where we have used Legitimate Interests as our lawful basis for processing, we have done so by balancing your own individual interests against our means to process and have completed a Legitimate Interests Assessment (LIA) to keep an audit trail of our decision and justification for the processing.

Partnership Research

The Fundraising & Development department will process personal data using publicly available materials to research potential supporters of The Lowry as relates to fundraising. The research helps the team to identify individuals and companies whose interests align with the work of The Lowry itself. As responsible fundraisers, it is necessary for The Lowry to have a diverse portfolio of funders and supporters, and so continuous prospecting and research is essential for this process.
