Should we see adverse weather on the day of any performance at The Lowry, the show will continue as normal. Security Information

Your safety and security is important to us and The Lowry has a series of visible and discreet security measures in place 24-hours a day. All bags may be subject to security searches prior to entry to the building. As such, we would ask that you refrain from bringing large bags to the venue as this could cause delays to your admittance.

Any bags larger than 30cm x 30cm x 15cm must be checked into the cloakroom at a cost of £1 per item. Please note: Anyone who declines a security search will not be admitted.

If you are attending a theatre performance, please ensure that you arrive with plenty of time for these security checks to take place, particularly so if you also have to collect tickets from the box office counter, which can be very busy pre-show.

Our security measures are under constant review and we reserve the right to change arrangements at short notice.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Admittance to the theatre

The Lowry reserves the right to refuse admittance to any patron, including unaccompanied minors.

For family and children’s shows where there is a ‘babes in arms’ policy in place, patrons will be issued with a complimentary ticket for any under 2-year-olds – who will be required to sit on the knee of a paying adult.

If the production does not have a specific babes in arms policy, children under two will not be admitted to any performance.

Should the babe-in-arms become restless and cause a disturbance, the parent/guardian will be requested to leave the auditorium with the child. We reserve the right to not re-admit.

Pushchairs may be stored free of charge in our cloakroom, or at The Quays Theatre, during performances. We cannot allow pushchairs, prams or baby car seats inside the theatre.

Baby changing facilities are available throughout the building – please ask a member of staff for assistance. A limited number of booster seats are available on a first come, first served basis. Booster seats can only be used in the Stalls of both The Lyric and Quays Theatres.

The management reserves the right to make alterations to the advertised cast and programme; not to admit latecomers until the interval; to refuse admission; to provide alternative seats to those purchased of the same or greater value.

The Lowry offers discounts to the following people: under 16s, students in full-time education, disabled people, 60+ in full-time retirement, job seekers and participants of the New Deal. When child tickets are listed separately, no extra concessions apply. These discounts are subject to availability and may vary according to the visiting producer and the show.

If your child is over 2 years old they have to have their own paid for seat/ticket. If your child us under 2 years tickets are free but they have to sit on a parents or guardians lap and they need a ticket. Babes-in-arms tickets cannot be purchased on the website. Please contact box office on 0843 208 6000.
