British Sign Language Led Tour of Lightwave’s & The Galleries

Martin Glover will lead a British Sign Language (BSL) tour of Morden Life: LS Lowry Collection and Lightwave’s Salford 2024 for the local deaf community, friends and families with deaf children.

Morden Life: LS Lowry Collection at Lowry showcases the world's biggest public collection of LS Lowry's work. LS Lowry is one of the most popular British painters of all time. He is famous for his commitment to painting the daily lives of northern British people, often against the background of the modern industrial city. He spent over 40 years in and around Salford and his pictures still connect with locals and visitors to the city today.

Lightwave’s Salford returns for 2024 and invites you to explore a trail of dramatic light art installations that animate and transform the waterside around Salford Quays and MediaCity. This year’s event will feature 14 artworks, five of which are brand new commissions and are hosting their world premieres in Salford. Visitors can expect a variety of different works using light, sound and technology to create an unforgettable experience.

*Please note that this event is specially aimed for sign language users but Martin will be accompanied with Naomi, the BSL interpreter so non signing parents of deaf children can be involved.
