Julia Fawcett, O.B.E. the Chief Executive of The Lowry, wins the Supernova prize at the 2023 annual This Is Mcr Awards

Last night Julia Fawcett, O.B.E. the Chief Executive of The Lowry, received the Supernova prize at the 2023 This Is Mcr Awards.

The fifth This Is Mcr Awards were held last night at Emirates Old Trafford and celebrates Greater Manchester’s hospitality, business, cultural, sporting and charitable organisations.

The Supernova Award is given to those who have ‘gone above and beyond for the greater good of others’ and is recognition of the work Julia – a proud Salfordian born and raised in the city – has undertaken during her time at The Lowry, especially regarding programmes aimed at supporting young people.

Julia has led The Lowry’s long-term commitment to strategic work with children and teens, engaging 340,000+ young people into The Lowrys creative programmes including young carers and those who have experienced care or homelessness, as well as supporting emerging talent.
