Are you a teacher or education provider with dreams of filling your classrooms with more creative energy? We’ve got you.
We offer workshops and projects linked to the curriculum and tailored to you, to inspire, enrich and excite through arts and culture. Workshops are available at Lowry and in schools.
Our workshops are led by artists who work creatively to deliver sessions that reflect their unique expertise. Because of this, workshops can vary from visit to visit and between classes. There is space for you to make any other specific requests on the booking form after you have selected your date.
We're also on hand to ensure the health and safety and safeguarding regulations are in place for schools visiting us. Read our Risk Assessment and Safeguarding for Schools for more information:

Work with a pro artist to explore the work of our namesake, LS Lowry. Visit the galleries to see the artwork before creating your own masterpiece. Our LS Lowry workshops are themed around his industrial scenes and portraits, exploring perspective, proportions and creative responses. -

Use visual art to explore the context of the time. Create a collaborative piece of work to display in your school.

Lowry's Teacher Network
Our Teacher’s Network brings teachers and education professionals from across the region together for three key meetings each year. Here, they join forces to help make the arts more accessible for children in our local communities.
The network also includes Lowry teams including Learning & Engagement, Marketing, Programming, Development - and many more.
Good-to-know
There’s a coach drop-off point directly outside the Lowry main entrance and our coach park has room for up to 25 coaches (free for pre-booked groups).
We encourage teachers to pop in before the school trip to get familiar with the building.

Accessibility & Cost
Accessibility
We work hard to make sure all of our events, performances and spaces can be enjoyed by everyone. Our accessibility assistance includes support for wheelchair users, deaf and hard of hearing, blind and visually impaired and neurodivergent people.

Workshops at Lowry:
We take any chance to support our local community, so we offer discounted rates for Salford Schools (available when you book).
2-hour workshop: £140
Salford Schools rate: £126
4-hour workshop: £280
Salford Schools rate: £252
In-school workshop:
Lowry is closed on Mondays but we offer flexible, in-school workshops 7 days a week. These can be half-day or full-day sessions - whatever works for you.
2-hours: £150
4-hours: £300
Costs may vary if the workshop is bespoke or if you’re outside of Greater Manchester.
Please note all workshops at Lowry have a maximum capacity of 35 people.
