Communities
We know our community members are a creative and ambitious bunch and we love working alongside them to put shows into community spaces and shape visual arts exhibitions and workshops for everyone. We deliver 2 groups for Salford residents aged 18+ who might not usually engage with visual arts or face barriers to theatre.
Show Selectors visit shows in different venues to see what's out there and which shows they might want to programme. They take part in meetings, talks and workshops to learn how to put on a live event. Finally, they programme 2 or more performances across Salford in parks to shopping centres, schools to social clubs and more and share the joy of live performance on your doorstep.
Community Creators visit a range of galleries and exhibitions and experience talks, tours and workshops to learn about visual arts, curation and creative engagement. They work with together with Lowry gallery staff to co-create workshops, events and exhibitions with, by and for local people.
