LOCAL: A show about home, belonging or not, and letting go
“I’m frightened of doing it without you”.
Solo- storyteller Liz revisits her childhood memories and home in the North in an attempt to understand whether she still belongs there, or ever did. In this multi-generational piece, Liz takes the audience on a journey through the rural landscape and environment of her home, reconnecting with voices from the past and her young family now. In doing so, Liz confronts her stark fear of loss and the feeling of being lost without belonging.
'Local' will have audiences laughing and crying simultaneously, it will feel familiar but unsettling. Visuals and sound help encompass Liz’s world in the early 90s.
With previous shows SWIM and Gutted being regional sellouts, Liz reveals her latest production Local on a small premiering tour which comes to Salford's Lowry on June 6th. This universal-themed show is human to its very core.
