Until We Sleep, the latest creation from London-based choreographer Botis Seva, is a dark and atmospheric adventure; a collage of stories of resistance and change.

Amidst the oppression of leadership, a lone nomad yearns for faith as they lead a wandering community through shifting passages of time. In a sublime blend of percussion and guttural sounds, the music blends into an undulating style of movement performed by the dancers of Far From The Norm. Feathered costumes give a glimpse of warriors transcending their former identities, while piercing light transforms the stage into an unforgiving arena, reminding us of a higher power that shapes our reality.

Until We Sleep brings into play the weight of hope against the burden of responsibility.

Botis Seva, Artistic Director Far From The Norm: "Until We Sleep is my newest work, which has been birthed from different feelings and experiences of being a leader, in life, as a father, as a maker. Until we are put to sleep, until we are no longer on the earth then we must fight for justice and peace. Everyone must do their part but not everyone will want to live in peace, Until We Sleep is about perseverance, strength and the pursuit of peace, especially as a leader with the responsibility of carrying a community, a group of people, a family."

Matthew Eames, Head of Theatres (Contemporary and Commissioning) Lowry said: “We are so pleased to see our partner company Far From the Norm return to Lowry. Botis and his collaborators have had a remarkable impact on dance in a short period and it's great to see this show, originally co-commissioned by Lowry and performed across the world, in the North.”
