A Fresh Take on Spring: Lowry’s New Seasonal Menu

Spring has arrived, and with it, a brand-new menu at Lowry that celebrates everything this season is about—freshness, vibrancy, and the best of what’s grown close to home.

At Lowry, we believe food should tell a story. A story of the people who grow it, the hands that craft it, and the land that nurtures it. That’s why our new menu is packed with ingredients from some of the finest local producers. We’re talking about vegetables grown with care at Field 28, rich and characterful cheeses from Carron Lodge, and top-quality meat from Caldwells Butchers—just seven miles away in Stockport.

A Taste of the Season

Spring flavours are all about brightness and balance. Think sweet new vegetables, creamy cheeses, and delicate seafood, all complemented by bold, fresh herbs. Our menu brings this to life with dishes like:

Salford honey-poached pear and Crumbly Lancashire cheese salad—because nothing says spring like the combination of tangy cheese, floral local honey, and crisp apple blossom.

Herb-crusted trout with saffron new potatoes—a dish as fresh as the season itself, with the perfect touch of seaside saltiness from samphire.

For those who love something hearty but meat-free, our Lentil shepherd’s pie with onion gravy and pickled red cabbage delivers big flavour while remaining plant-based.

Spring isn’t just about the savoury. It’s also about the return of bright, zesty desserts. Our Raspberry and lemon Swiss roll is light, fruity, and flavoursome, while the Rhubarb and custard with rhubarb syrup gives a nostalgic nod to one of the UK’s most iconic flavour pairings.

And for the cheese lovers, we’ve got a Cheeseboard with house chutney and oat biscuits, showcasing some of the best cheeses from Carron Lodge.

Sustainably Sourced, Locally Loved

Eating with the seasons isn’t just about taste—it’s about supporting local farmers, reducing food miles, and making better choices for the planet. By working with suppliers like Field 28, Carron Lodge, and Caldwells Butchers, we’re bringing you food that’s not only delicious but also responsibly sourced.

So, whether you’re here for a long lunch, a pre-theatre bite, or dinner with friends, our new menu is ready to welcome you.
