Inside Lightwaves Salford 2025
Part of Lightwaves Salford, a free outdoor light festival taking place 4–7 December 2025, 4pm–10pm daily.

Join us for Inside Lightwaves – an opportunity to meet and hear from the artists presenting extraordinary light-based works in this year’s festival. You’ll also have the chance to connect with the festival team and with other artists interested in light-based practice and creating work for the public realm.
The event includes lunch and an in-conversation session with Lightwaves artists, offering insight into developing original new work for outdoor and public spaces.

Additional Opportunity
As part of Inside Lightwaves, artists are also invited to attend an introductory session on Wednesday 14 January 2026, 11am–1pm at The Lowry, where you will:
- meet the Quays Culture team,
- get a better understanding of how light festival are curated and programmed
- learn how to pitch work to light and outdoor festivals.
This free opportunity is brought to you in partnership with Quays Culture and Lowry’s Artist Development team, for Greater Manchester artists interested in light-based work, outdoor art installations, and practices involving technology and digital innovation.
Lightwaves Salford is an annual festival that invites audiences to explore a trail of dramatic light installations that animate and transform the waterside environment at Salford Quays and MediaCity.
