WTF Wednesday: Amy Bell - The Forecast
Presented by The Lowry and Word of Warning
What’s it going to be like? It’s going to be epic. A dream-like solo, with opposing fronts sweeping across the shifting landscape of the gendered body. Later, a high chance of virtuosity, introspection, humour and tender becomings.
Amy Bell rides the blustery winds of aspiration and transformation blowing about our changing sense of self. Mercurial movement and text are immersed in a live digital soundscape by composer Jamie McCarthy, with animation from visual artist Hetain Patel.
Weathering the storm, trying to read a forecast in constant flux, how will we know when we’ve arrived?
Watch this space; conditions fleeting.
About Amy Bell
A London-based dance artist whose work embraces performing, making, writing, teaching, and curation, Amy Bell’s recent works use the interplay and slippage between words and body to interrogate processes of change in felt gender and sexual identities.
WTF Wednesdays are a brand new spanking series of evenings celebrating cutting edge contemporary theatre for the most creatively curious of cats.
Bag a ticket. Grab a drink. Who ever said asking ‘WT actual F’ was a bad thing?
This is a Pay a What You Decide event. WTF? Reserve your tickets, come along, see the show and decide how much you want to pay afterwards!
As this is a Pay What You Decide event, we know some people who book tickets won’t turn up on the night so we send out more tickets than there are places. We do our best to get the numbers right but we advise you arrive early to ensure you get a seat! We don’t often have to disappoint people but if we can’t fit you in we will try to offer you tickets to another show in The Lowry that night.

Find out more about our Pay What You Decide Season
The Lowry is at the forefront of presenting some of UK’s most pioneering, genre-bending new performance and we would like to share it with you. Pay What You Decide not only allows you to pay what you can afford, rather than a fixed ticket price, but removes the financial risk of buying a ticket for a show without knowing if you will enjoy it or not. All money collected will help us pay the artists who have performed and allow them to continue creating new and exciting work.
We currently have two PWYD shows available to whet your appetite – WTF Wednesday which is a series of evenings for the compulsively curious featuring frontrunners from the frontiers of contemporary theatre making, and our Digital programme.
