Atlas was punished by the Gods to hold the weight of the cosmos for a long time – perhaps an eternity. He’s not sure if he is a man or a mountain or a giant. His back hurts. He wonders what would happen if he just let go.
Oddly Moving’s new show explores the Greek myth of Atlas interwoven with personal stories about the metaphorical weight we each bear or let go of. Addressing themes of choice, responsibility and the individual worlds that define us.
Directed by Charlotte Mooney of Ockham’s Razor and with Oddly Moving’s unique blend of physical theatre, autobiographical storytelling and circus skills (with a rudimentary understanding of physics) Atlas looks at how we each bear the weight of our personal burdens, our what-ifs, joys, regrets and choices and asks what happens if we let go?

and connector, lighting up the entire stage.” LucyLovesCircus
