Why Women Read Fiction

Why is the fiction genre so appealing to women? Helen Taylor will lead a Words Weekend panel discussion exploring why Women read fiction, why it continues to be the most successful genre in publishing and how publishers are keeping the genre alive by championing women writers and most importantly finding new talent.

The first Director of the Liverpool Literary Festival, Helen is Emeritus Professor of English at the University of Exeter. An Honorary Fellow of the British Association of American Studies and Leverhulme Emeritus Fellow 2016-18.
