Shoots - Scratch Night
- Show me:
- The Scripts
Our Studio Members scratch night Shoots returns this Autumn, and this time we’re putting on a bumper evening of new work with partner organisations ADP and DANC.
‘Shoots’ is an evening dedicated to the development of ideas, projects which might one day turn into fully formed pieces and go on to conquer the world, but which for now are stuck floating around in your creative ethers, trying to find an audience. It’s about throwing an idea at the wall and seeing if it sticks, it’s about now rather than never, it’s about the spit, without the polish.
As usual, four artists/companies from our Studio Members and Class Of 2019 schemes will present 15 minutes of new work. These will be followed by four pieces presented by ADP and DANC creatives.
Studio Members is The Lowry’s artist development scheme which is open to everyone and which offers free training opportunities to creatives, producers and companies in the Greater Manchester area. Read more about the scheme and how to join here. Studio Members can view the call out for Shoots submissions here.
Manchester ADP is a theatre company that produce regular script in hand performances of new writing.
DANC (Disabled Artists Networking Community) is a regular networking event to encourage dialogue between Theatres, Television Companies, Arts Organisations, Arts Venues, Professional Artists and Performers with disabilities from all creative practices.
Both ADP and DANC are open to new members and you can find out more here:
Manchester ADP and DANC have selected four scripts that will be performed using a selection of ADP and DANC performers.

Men Chase Women Choose
Men Chase Women Choose explores the realms of Women, Sex and Science. We explore how male scientists have, perhaps unwittingly but no less damagingly, shaped the cultural discourse that surrounds women and sex.
