Roundabout in Irlam: Dare To Be Free

This event has passed

Local, renowned playwright Jane McNulty joins with Salford Community Theatre to stage an excerpt of her work: Dare to be Free. Exploring the life of trade unionist and activist, Mary Quaile, we are transported to 1908 as café workers understand their rights and get ready to organise! A short excerpt from the full script written by Jane in 2016 which toured the UK.

Jane McNulty has had work on The Lowry stages and has written for TV including Doctors, EastEnders & Heartbeat.

Salford Community Theatre was established in 2014 by a group of politically engaged theatre practitioners, who had the ambition of putting on socially engaged community theatre in Salford.
They work with participants in Salford to create artistically excellent theatre which examines elements of Salford’s industrial, political and social history. Using the past as a lens, they connect contemporary Salfordians to their city through expression and art.
