- Show me:
Petwo Evans present their constantly evolving AV live show made in collaboration with digital video artists Louis Mustill and Will Young. The show processes and resynthesises the Welsh landscape – emphasising the remoteness and the extreme beauty in nature and in industrial and post-industrial structures.
Petwo started life as a music project from long-term collaborators drummer/percussionist/producer Rich Thair and electronic musician/sound artist
Jake Williams. Much of their music is made on a remote farm in West Wales – Rich
makes rhythms using found objects (tumble dryer, water bottle, broken piano and
stone) which are then looped, processed and combined with electronic machines and digital turntable techniques to create music that reflects the landscape – age-old continental drifts, abandoned industrial quarries and the Blade Runner-thrill of driving through Port Talbot at night.
In April 2015 they participated in a week-long artist residency at Pontadawe Arts
Center, South Wales in collaboration with digital visual artists Louis Mustill and Will
Young. This was further developed into a full live AV show for the Splice Festival, London in 2018.
