Oberman Knocks & Comfort Zones

A digital double bill
Oberman Knocks & Comfort Zones

Our acclaimed digital programme continues with a digital double bill:

UK recording artist/composer Oberman Knocks will perform his latest work, specially commissioned for The Lowry, followed by Polish artists Odaibe Visuals performing the mesmerising ‘Comfort Zones’ – an audio-visual poem for digital dreamers.

About Comfort Zones

An audio-visual poem for digital dreamers. A spatial symbiosis of photons floating on the waves in neurochemical synaptic dance. Familiar shapes morph into statues of biological time where warm drones spread in canyons veins. Artists liberate ideas through a stream of organic afterimages and moody vibrations.

Visual artist Bartłomiej Szlachcic (odaibe) and musician Paweł Galecki (Pablo Frizzi) together under the moniker ‘Comfort Zones’, explore mysterious landscapes of internal sensations. It’s a marriage between honest expression and care for the audience.

‘Comfort Zones’ already performed at Splice Festival in London, Patch Lab in Kraków and Live Cinema Festival in Rome. Collaboration between the artists continues to grow.

 About Oberman Knocks

Oberman Knocks is London-based, electronic producer Nigel Truswell. With no interest in tech-talk, the latest plug-ins or trends, his tracks are all about the creation and manipulation of sounds for the pure pleasure of the production itself. Spurning sterile accuracy and clinically happy tunes for sounds that bring back some of the dirt and darkness that has been swept away of late, these are tracks happy to inhabit the dark corridors of the mind through to large expanses of concrete space waiting to be filled.

Oberman Knocks last performed at The Lowry as part of Week 53 in 2016 with ’30 Days of the Smiths’ which presented an audio soundscape which included clips from ‘Panic’, ‘This Charming Man’ and ‘What Difference Does It Make’, featured interviews with Salfordians with the surname Smith by the poet and chancellor of the University of Salford, Jackie Kay.
