HOW TO: Tour Book
Have you got a great show, but need to start getting it in front of audiences? Have you managed to get programmed locally, but now need to work on branching out to wider regional and national touring? Does booking a tour leave you eating your own tour pack and weeping in frustration? Trust us, we know the feeling…
As a follow-on from our session HOW TO: Get Programmed, we are running a workshop focusing on consolidated tour booking, covering everything that will help you get your show on the road.
– How to approach venues and programmers
– Timelines and schedules
– How to track and manage conversations
– How to budget and negotiate
– Touring logistics
The session will be led Francesca Waite, a theatre maker and producer with ten years’ experience who has booked national tours for Monkeywood Theatre and Lowry Associate Artist company Colour The Clouds. Formerly a member of the Lowry’s Programming Team, Francesca has first-hand experience of tour booking from the venue side as well, and is therefore ideally placed to talk to artists, companies and producers about the best way to approach and deal with venues.
