Our Christmas Appeal 2018 has now come to an end and we are delighted to have raised over £30,000 to support a creative project with teenage parents and their children in Salford.
Salford has one of the highest teenage birth rates in the UK. Young parents can struggle with education, money and housing, even before new parent responsibilities. Many young parents struggle with confidence and low self-esteem.
Funds raised in The Lowry’s Christmas Appeal 2018 will fund a year-long project with two teenage parent groups in Salford. This story-telling and creative play-based project will support young parents and their children to fall in love with storytelling, music and visual arts, improving their confidence and encouraging positive relationships.
Thank you all for your generous donations, we couldn’t have done it without the support of our amazing audiences.
