Recruitment Process

Working environment

We aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can feel comfortable to be themselves and achieve their best. We promote a healthy work-life balance and are committed to helping our employees and volunteers develop in a way that’s right for them.

Some of the ways we help achieve this include:

  • Flexible working
  • Talent/Career development
  • Health and Wellbeing Steering Group/Culture
  • We also offer a range of employee benefits and discount schemes that can boost wellbeing and – through our colleagues at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust – a free confidential counselling service

It’s a team effort!

Everyone can play a part in making our workplace welcoming to all and help ensure we continue to adapt. Some of the ways our employees and volunteers help us with this include:

Employee and Volunteer Communication Forums (ECF and VCF)

Our employees and volunteers play an important role in creating a working environment welcoming to all. Each year, they elect a panel of representatives to work with the chief executive and other directors on matters relating to work life at The Lowry.

Diversity Working Group

In addition to the ECF and VCF we have a Diversity Working Group made up of employees across the organisation who advocate for diversity and inclusion through conversations, discussion, feedback and providing information to directors and trustees that can help bring about change.

The Disability Confident Scheme

The Lowry holds the Two Ticks accreditation symbol from Jobcentre Plus, now known as The Disability Confident Scheme. The symbol is awarded to employers in England, Scotland and Wales who make a commitment to employ, keep and develop the abilities of disabled staff.
