Led by Alice Christina-Corrigan, this free workshop is for theatre makers and performance artists at any stage of career.

This interactive, fun and creative workshop will focus on creative captioning and audio description for live performance. Breaking down what these access provisions are and providing hands-on experience using affordable creative tools. We’ll look at different styles of captioning and audio description, create examples of work and incorporate projections and tech, with time for a Q&A at the end.

Alice Christina-Corrigan is a visually impaired actor, theatre maker and access consultant from Northampton, and now based in Manchester. Her practice is focused around creatively and intuitively advancing the technological landscape of creative access in theatre by implementing new and exciting ways to approach creative access, primarily for Blind and Deaf communities. Her work incorporates dynamic sound scores, audio description language and creative captioning.

Her first production, PAST LIFE, debuted at Camden People’s Theatre and has been performed at the Barbican Centre, Bloomsbury Festival and Is currently touring the country. Alice is also a Developed With artist at The Lowry, and working on the creation of her next production FADE.

PAST LIFE will be coming to The Lowry on Thursday 4th May, 8pm.
